Challenge Coins This is a hobby with lots of different twists of it's origins. We have heard it started in WWII, some Ammo Troops, the German Army, and a few others. The truth is no matter what is out there on all the challenge coin sites, no one really knows for sure when this started. However, we can talk about where it is today. Challenge coins became popular through the military in the 80's and has grown to 10's of thousand's of coins available to collectors ranging from police departments coins to military coins. Even Kindergarten classes get coins on their graduation. Basically coins are given for almost any occassion and has been hugely popular throughout the United States and has been spreading around the world like wildfire. International collector's have spurred a lot of the hugely popular eBay sales and more so the community as they learn and contribute to the community. eBay sales also have watered down much of the hobby as junk coin sellers have turned to lower cost to move more product. Mass producing coins have greatly impact the hobby by making most of those worthless by shear number. The hobby is going places and we hope to contribute those places to a positive area. We are trying to reverse the "quick buck" mentality most sellers have and turn this into a true community with great coins. |

Introducing CCT.com
There we are...in the pinnacle of the newest hobby to hit the U.S. and international collectors. We are building a great place for people to come and enjoy the trading of coins with the added value of a real community. Some people may not enjoy the community part. If you have no intentions on participating we ask that you don't register and instead use our other challenge coin trading site which caters to those people that wanted on the trading without the bells and whistles.
Getting the trading aspect is always going to encourage people to step outside of their world and try to save a buck by getting something in a swap.

Less Than Desirable Coins
Some people believe all coins are great and created fairly. This is false in many aspects. Unless you think you deserve a $6 coin, don't buy them. These coins are often the result of duplicating the real thing, horrible workmanship, or an eBay seller that pawns crap to everyone. As a community we have a voice to tell these sellers that we don't want the garbage. People deserve better and when 90% of what's being sold is garbage we need to tell them it is.
We won't name a list publicly on our site of places to avoid for there is places inside this site where you can get the scoop on who to avoid when building a beautiful collection. Want to know better? Ya we thought so too, come in and register today.
